Hey Lero for a Lipo battery do you have to have a special Lipo charger or will a regular Smart Charger work?

I would get a LiPO specific charger. The regular smart charger can charge it through the Tamiya connector but a LiPO specific balance charger is what you should be using.

The regular smart charger only "pushes" a voltage charge until it senses that the battery is full.
The balance charger uses the little 4 wire harness to "push" a voltage charge each cell individually until thier full and than "balaces" the voltage in the battery as a whole.
LiPO's are very sensitive to cell balance, charging and operation voltages.
Check with Thor(Bob) on Sunday at the Firezone game. He works at an R/C Hobby shop and can probably get you set up.
